We will be discussing inter-generational leadership trends in the nonprofit sector. We are particularly interested in the experiences and motivations of young Millennials and Generation X emerging leaders in the sector (i.e. people 40 and younger) as well as baby-boomers who are currently in leadership roles.

We are interested in questions such as:

  • What draws you to and/or sustains you about mission-driven and social impact work?
  • What kind of organizational relationships, structures, and conditions matter to you?
  • As emerging and/or on-going leaders how do think about growth and development opportunities for yourselves and others?

The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL, Greensboro, NC), Praxis Consulting Group/Organizational Dynamics (U of P, Philadelphia) and the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University (Chicago) are working with the American Express Foundation (New York City) to research trends related to emerging leaders interested in mission driven/social impact work. The research builds on inter-generational longitudinal studies that CCL has conducted over several decades and seeks to take a qualitative look at the experience of Millennial and Generation X emerging leaders in pursuing meaningful social impact work.

We are looking forward to seeing you and hearing from you. Please feel forward this email to anyone else who might be interested.
