UPDATED: B Corps in the News!
The B Corporation movement was featured recently in The New York Times. A Scorecard for Companies with a Conscience, written by Pulitzer Prize winning author Tina Rosenberg, whose Fixes column explores creative solutions to social problems, tells the overall B Corp story and highlights three B Corps -- King Arthur Flour, UnCommonGoods and IceStone. A followup piece is due to be published on Friday (4/15/11).
Praxis is proud to be a founding B Corp and to have clients like King Arthur Flour who share our commitment to corporate social responsibility!
Update (4/22/11):
The follow up article on B Corps, Ethical Businesses With a Better Bottom Line, addresses many of the questions that were raised by commenters in response to the first installment in the two-part series, and features responses from leaders of several B Corp certified companies. The author and the commenters make a strong case for the 'benefits' of being a socially responsible business; it is possible to "do well by doing good", but you have to "want to do things this way," as KAF CEO, Steve Voight, aptly points out.
