Our Ownership Philosophy
Building on our roots in assisting employee-owned companies, we believe that the power of ownership can be leveraged by and applied broadly to all of our client organizations.
Even where shared financial ownership may not be an option, workplaces that foster a culture of ownership are more likely to perform at high levels and to attract and retain creative, responsible, and committed employees.
Three key components of an Ownership Culture are:
- Participation: the opportunity for people at all levels of an organization to contribute to identifying problems and crafting solutions
- Accountability: a sense of responsibility not only for one's own work, but for the work of colleagues and the organization as a whole
- Shared Rewards: when an organization succeeds, all of those who contributed to that success are able to share in the profits, other forms of recognition, or the satisfaction of increased organizational impact
Within our own company we are committed to maximizing the power of ownership. All Praxis employees have the opportunity to become owners of the firm. We operate our company according to principles of participation, transparency, shared leadership, shared responsibility, and shared rewards.
Applying the Power of Ownership by:
Designing planning processes that include a large number of
employees or other organizational stakeholders so that people will feel more
committed to the plan that will define their future
Helping organizations build their capacity for employee
participation in problem solving and decision making in order to benefit from
the skills, knowledge and experience
that exist at all levels
Creating leadership development programs designed to encourage
people to take responsibility for their own performance and professional growth
Assisting organizations in developing transparent processes
and communication systems that result in employees being knowledgeable about
their workplaces, its goals, its progress and their contributions to organizational
success
