About Us

Praxis is a 100% employee-owned consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia. We provide organization development services to employee-owned firms and mission-driven organizations across the United States.

Our Approach

We draw from over 30 years of experience in developing healthy, high-performing organizations. Here’s how we approach our work with clients.

Our Mission

We believe that organizations with broad engagement and ownership contribute to a more just, equitable, and sustainable society.

We strengthen productive workplaces where people are empowered and share in the value they help create.

We develop leaders, build effective teams, and guide organizations to create lasting impact and enduring value.

Our History

Praxis was founded in Philadelphia in 1995 by Ginny Vanderslice and Alex Moss. Initially, we focused on communications, training, and organizational development services for employee-owned companies. Nancie Zane joined the following year and we began to work with nonprofits, socially responsible businesses, and other mission-driven organizations.

As our firm has grown, we have brought on new talent, expanded our services, and published resources to serve our clients and our broader community.

Social Impact

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

We help organizations cultivate workplace cultures where every person feels welcomed, valued, respected, and heard.

Focused on the Triple Bottom Line

Social responsibility is an essential part of our value system. In 2007, Praxis became a founding B Corporation and we have maintained our certification each year since then. B Corps are companies whose commitment to triple bottom line values — people, planet, and profits — is recognized through a third-party certification process.  We were proud to be a multi-year recipient of the B-Corp “Best for the World” Award during the decade the program was active.

In 2013, Pennsylvania passed legislation to create Benefit Corporations, companies dedicated to public benefit, and we became one of the first companies in the commonwealth to receive this designation.

As part of our commitment to social responsibility, we donate ten percent of our profits annually to nonprofit organizations.
